The TRI-iT Festival and Youth Triathon is a two-day event promoting a healthy, active lifestyle for the whole family to enjoy.

The 2010 TRI-iT Fun Festival will be held on Saturday, June 19th from 11am-3pm and the Truxtun Youth Triathlon will be on Sunday morning June 20st. The TRI-iT Festival will move from Collison Field to the new Recreation Center, ball fields and basketball courts along Hilltop Drive in Annapolis.

The TRI-iT Fun Festival is your chance to try a new sport, hobby, activity, game, adventure, learn to protect the environment and enter for your chance to win a Nintendo Wii Gaming System along with the Wii Fit! All you need to do is download the TRI-iT game card (available here in June) which lists 25 different FREE activities. Visit 5 activites to make a straight line (like bingo) and enter to win the Wii. Each entry receives a goody bag. One entry per person. Winner notified via e-m on Monday, June 21, 2010 by noon.

Last year more than 1,600 folks participated in the Truxtun TRI-iT Fun Festival. The Truxtun pool was open for a FREE refreshing swim and sprinklers were going full-on during the event. Kids of all ages participated in a wide variety of outdoor activities from inside Collison baseball field to the skateboard park to the boat ramp including baseball with the Bowie Baysox, martial arts, wiggly worm composting, obstacle courses, golfing, tennis, skateboarding, and of course, the famous Disc Dogs. Red, Hot & Blue provided delicious bar-b-que concessions perfect for an afternoon at the park.

The 2008 TRI-iT Bingo game was a hit! Approximately 350 kids participated in the game and received a special goody bag just for them packed with frisbees, sports bottles, baseballs, gooey worms, stickers and all kinds of fun stuff. ALL completed TRI-iT Bingo cards were entered in a contest to win a totally cool iPod Touch. The iPod Touch winner was....Savannah C. of Annapolis. Congratulations to Savannah. We hope you enjoyed your summer with a brand new iPod putting the internet, music, movies and more in the palm of your hand. Thank you to all who entered and played TRI-iT Bingo.

Truxtun Youth Triathlon 2010

On Sunday of the weekend, over 200 young athletes from 7-17 will compete in the Truxtun Swim, Bike and Run Youth Triathlon with lengths pre-determined by participants age. The multi-sport event will take place at Truxtun pool and throughout Annapolis on trails, pathways and sidewalks. All finishers will receive awards.

The Run Sponsor was Whole Foods Market and the Swim Sponsor, NightTime Care Center. Field sponsors included Annapolis Pediatrics, Annapolis Triathlon Club, Baltimore Washington Medical Center and East Coast Martial Arts.

''Truxtun Park is located off Hilltop Lane in Annapolis. Take US-50 East to Exit 22. Merge onto SR-665 East (Aris T Allen Blvd). Continue as Aris T Allen turns into Forest Drive. Make a left onto Hilltop Lane. Go about 3/4 of a mile then turn left onto Primrose Road. When the road forks, go to the left. Make first left onto Pumphouse Road and you there! Additional parking can be found near tennis courts and skateboard park.
