Looking for a new playground to explore this summer? Here are five awesome options from our post of summer fun ideas every day this summer.

Playgrounds copy WSo pack up a picnic, pick a playground and let the kids swing, slide and climb until they are totally worn out.

  1. Watch airplanes from the BWI Trail playground — Climb, slide, jump on tree stumps all while watching planes fly just overhead.
  2. Visit Woodland Wonderland Playground — Nestled within Walker Mill Regional Park in Capitol Heights, the playground has numerous climbing structures, more than a dozen slides and a scavenger hunt for woodland characters hiding in the area. Cool off in the “Walker Mill Misting Park” section of the playground that offers squirting statues and other water features.
  3. Hallowing Point Playground — This new playground is amazing for kids of all ages. Older kids will appreciate 30-foot-high tube slides, rope pyramids, rope bridges, climbing structures and even a spinner that kids can push and jump on for a ride. For the tots there is a separate structure shaped like a boat with slides, bridges and baby swings all on a soft rubber surface.
  4. Visit Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro — There are at least two cool playgrounds and tons of other fun at this cool park. The Wizard of Oz themed playground for the kids has an Emerald City jungle gym, yellow brick road and ruby slipper slides. There’s also a horse racing themed playground with a horse head statue to climb and horses on springs to ride. The park also has other fun including a miniature train, carousel, miniature golf course and farm.
  5. Captain a pirate ship at the playground — Kids can pretend to sail the seas at the pirate themed playground at Broadneck Park in Annapolis. The playground has a slide, accessible swings and plenty of climbing.
