Early Education Expansion
The Goddard School of Millersville opened its new 19,000-square-foot building this summer and is enrolling for the fall. The preschool offers American Sign Language, engineering, dramatic arts and more.
Family-Friendly Crab Feast
The all-you-can-eat Rotary Club of Annapolis crab feast returns Aug. 7 for its 81st year, including crabs (of course), and for picky eaters in the family, hot dogs, corn and beef BBQ.
Made in Maryland is Back
Celebrate Maryland pride at the Made in Maryland Festival at Kurtz’s Beach (Aug. 16) in Pasadena. Find fun for the whole family with local crafters, food venders and wineries, Maryland’s state sport of jousting and children’s activities.
National Dog Month
Did you know August is National Dog Month? Celebrate with events like the SPCA of Anne Arundel County’s annual Puppy Plunge (Aug. 23) at Camp Letts in Edgewater.
Maryland Ren Fest Returns, Huzzah!
The Maryland Renaissance Festival’s 50th season kicks off in Crownsville Aug. 29! Ages 6 and younger can attend for free. Enjoy traditional games, food and shows and follow along with this season’s story: the 50th Harvest Festival in 1540 and the king’s new marriage.
