7 Lucky Ways to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Maryland

St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th, is fast approaching and we have a few ways to make the best of this holiday celebrating all things Irish with your family and friends!

Shamrock shake with whipped cream for Saint Patrick’s Day

1. Grab a mean green milkshake!

Head on over to the EC Diner in Elicott City or Stam’s Luncheonette in Chestertown to indulge in a festive milkshake. Stam’s is also offering a delicious Lucky Charms Sundae topped with a Raspberry Macaroon. Both places always have great eats, but their inventive, creative, and delicious desserts are what we keep coming back for!

Dress up in all green everything!

2. Have A Green a Fashion Show

Put together the greenest outfit ever and strut your stuff. Vote for your favorite outfit and give the winner a cute prize!

Start a St. Patrick’s Day tradition by planting some traditional growing clover.

3. Plant some shamrocks

Why not start a new tradition this year and plant some Shamrocks? These festive plants can be planted both outdoors and indoors as a house plant.

4. Make a traditional Irish Meal

This is my personal favorite! Every year since I was a kid we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with the traditional Irish meal of corn-beef and cabbage with a side of Irish Soda Bread. Check out the recipe here that I use. It is my family’s favorite meal of the year!

5. Learn how to Irish Jig

Dust off your dancing shoes and do a dance tutorial together of some Irish dancing. Then have a dance off and see who can get down the best! Check out this article about how Irish dancing is taking Maryland by storm here.

6. Make a leprechaun trap

Break out your arts and craft supplies and build a leprechaun trap. Set it out the night before St. Patrick’s Day to catch one of those cheeky leprechauns!

7. Attend a St. Patrick’s Day Parade or Event
