A playground history lesson at Laurel’s Montpelier Mansion

Hands-In-historyTake the kids to a history playground on the grounds of Montpelier Mansion in Laurel this summer.

Learn about life in 18th century Maryland while having fun in the “Blast-in-the-Past Hands-On History Playground” Wednesdays through Saturdays, July 17-Aug. 10, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Try your hand at being farmer, a frontiersperson, a carpenter, a town crier and more. Kids can get involved in hands-on imaginative play and dress up for the part. There will also be puppets and a stage for kids to put on a show for the town crier. Visitors can come for an hour or stay all day. Drop-ins welcome, no reservations required. Cost is $2 a day, $1 for Montgomery and Prince George’s county residents. For ages 2 and up.

Montpelier is located at 9650 Muirkirk Road. Visit the Montpelier Manson website or call 301-377-7817 for detaisl.
