If you love to enjoy a sweet treat while you read, you’ll be happy to hear that the Anne Arundel County Public Library (AACPL) has just released its own book-inspired ice cream flavor as part of a collaboration with Annapolis-based ice cream company Always Ice Cream. Released as part of Love Your Library Month, “The Wonderful Wizard of S’mores” is cookies and cream ice cream infused with brownie bites, chocolate chunks, graham cracker crumble and vanilla marshmallow swirl.
AACPL and Always Ice Cream have been collaborating for Love Your Library Month since 2023, with past flavors including “Dragons Love Toffee and “One Flew Over the Cookie’s Nest.” The annual flavor is decided through a community vote, with the flavor “Are You There, God? It’s Me, Ice Cream” coming in second place this year.
This year’s campaign comes with several collaborations with other local businesses offering menu items with flavors inspired by “The Wonderful Wizard of S’mores,” with 20 percent of proceeds going to AACPL’s fundraising efforts. For the second year, Pherm Brewing Company will be making a beer inspired by the ice cream. New collaborators include Bean Rush Cafe and The Big Bean, with themed lattes; Chessie’s Wharf, with a cocktail; the Annapolis location of Double T Diner, with a cheesecake; Garten, with an ice cream sandwich; and Nothing Bundt Cakes’ Annapolis, Crofton and Severna Park locations, which will be incorporating the flavor into its cake of the month. The flavor will also be available for purchase at Fishpaws Marketplace. These items will be available through February 28.
