Not available at drugstores but certainly worth an eye out are Nails Inc. and SpaRitual polishes. Nails Inc. has various winter and holiday collections and gift sets coming up, as does SpaRitual, so if you want any brights to stockpile for next year, scoop these up.

Nails Inc. adds new polish shades every season, and this spring and summer they added coral orange Kensington Palace Gardens; murky teal Green Park; bright banana yellow Belsize Park; sky blue Chelsea Physic Gardens; melon pink St. James Park; and mint-tinged blue Royal Botanical Gardens. All of these shades are crèmes.

SpaRitualReflectCollection ChesapeakeFamilyAboutFaceIf you want a sample of everything, Nails Inc. often releases sets with mini bottles. The brand has a few different ones out right now that include the aforementioned Chelsea Physic Gardens, glittery navy blue Sloane Gardens, classic red Chelsea Bridge Road, fuchsia Primrose Hill Gardens, yellow-tinged orange Hampton Court Palace Gardens, and dark green Bruton Mews. If you get a few of those mini-sets and divide them up, you’ve got instant stocking stuffers, especially for tweens who may be interested in nail polish but definitely don’t need a full-sized bottle.

Also keep an eye out for SpaRitual, a more under-the-radar brand that you can grab at online retailers like Beauty.com and Zappos.com, and of course the brand’s own website. The brand’s collections are always inspirationally themed, and the Reflect collection is no different. Most of these shades are work-appropriate, which is definitely a plus: Joy, a beige with gold shimmer; Inner Beauty, a gold foil; Kindness, an autumn orange with gold shimmer; Freedom, a complex mix of purple and brown with pink and blue glitter; Innocence, the same shade of beige as Joy but without any shimmer; and Positive Vibe, a mustard yellow crème. Positive Vibe, Kindness, and Freedom are my favorites, but Joy, Innocence, and even Inner Beauty would certainly work for work.

AVAILABILITY: Full-sized Nails Inc. polishes cost $9.50, whereas sets of six mini polishes are $25; SpaRitual polishes are available in full-size bottles for $12 each. Check out Nails Inc. at Sephora stores and Sephora.com and SpaRitual at SpaRitual.com, Beauty.com, and Zappos.com.
