I don’t think any nail polish, at least in the United States, is more ubiquitous than OPI, and I always appreciate their eagerness to switch things up with new collections and collaborations. This past spring and summer, the brand rolled out collections inspired by everything from classic cartoons to the James Bond movie series, and practically every single one of them is worth tracking down.

For glitters, check out the Designer Series shades Pewter and Lapis, which are some of the brand’s higher-end polishes. Although they’re a bit pricier, they’re really multidimensional, and the grey Pewter and purplish blue Lapis are quite rich.

OPIMissUniverse MinnieMouse ChesapeakeFamilyAboutFaceAlso glittery, but part of the Liquid Sand textured collection, are the Bond Girls shades, inspired by the women from the James Bond films. I love the practically gothic Vesper, a mix of dark purple, black, and pink glitter, but the gold Honey Ryder and silver Solitaire would be great for New Year’s Eve nails. And for pedicures anytime, try the coral and orange Jinx, the turquoise blue Tiffany Case, or the very light pink Pussy Galore.

Similarly fun are the polishes in the Couture de Minnie collection, inspired by Mickey Mouse’s main squeeze. All shades of red and pink, these are very feminine, lovely shades: glitter red Magazine Cover Mouse, which is a Liquid Sand shade; reddish pink A Definite Moust-Have; very light bubblegum pink Chic from Ears to Tail; glitter topcoat Minnie Style, with hexagon-shaped white, pink, and red glitter; and shimmery and rich red Innie Minnie Mightie Bow.

And finally, the most work-appropriate are the trio of Miss Universe shades: mauve purple I’m Feeling Sashy is very dusty and sophisticated; silver foil This Gown Needs a Crown is flawlessly smooth in application; and Miss You-niverse is a very pretty dark purple. All very nice, classic shades.

AVAILABILITY: OPI Designer Shades are $12.50 each; Bond Girls, Couture de Minnie, and Miss Universe polishes are $9 each, at Ulta, Target, and your local drugstores.
