New Nicole by OPI shades

I feature Nicole by OPI quite often on About Face, and that’s because the brand so rarely lets me down. Although you may think you’ve seen these four new shades for spring 2013 somewhere before, they’re all legitimately unique, with a great formula—you’ll need barely two coats for each.
Totally in the Dark is a dark black with fine silver shimmer and small silver glitter; Plum to Your Senses! is a very deep, blue-based purple with fine blue, pink, and silver shimmer; Please Red-Cycle is a straightforward, classic red crème that is slightly orange-based; and Still Into Pink is a practically neon bubblegum pink with very fine silver shimmer.
I wouldn’t really say any of these are appropriate for a conservative workplace, but Please Red-Cycle is a simple, bold shade that would work well for nights out; Still Into Pink would be a solid pedicure choice; and Totally in the Dark and Plum to Your Senses! are great date-night options.

Next up is the four-piece Apres Ski collection for spring 2013 from Priti NYC, a smaller boutique brand that pumps out a few collections a year. You won’t find these polishes at your local drugstore, but you can order them from the brand’s website—they’re worth hunting down.
The collection includes Envy, a murkier military green crème; Guinea Rose, a darker, more burnt red with fine shimmer; Pearlwort, a citrusy, yellowy green with a jelly finish; and Silver Torch, a light grey with a silvery, icy blue shimmer and sheen. My favorite of the bunch is the weird Pearlwort, which I love because of how much it looks like slime (I have bizarre tastes sometimes, I admit), but I think Guinea Rose and Silver Torch are both lovely, work-appropriate shades. And I have to respect Priti NYC for making this collection so varied and different.
