+ Designer Series by OPI:Temptation and Bold(third photo, second row, two items on left). The Designer Series by OPI got two new additions this winter, with the deep, inky purple shade Temptation, packed with purple and blue glitter, and the brighter, pink and coral Bold. A few dollars more expensive than normal OPI shades, the Designer series is all about opulence, and these saturated, pigmented shades certainly follow in that tradition ($12.50 each, at your local nail salon or Ulta).

+ Finger Paints Merry & Bright collection (third photo, second row, six items on right). The six polishes in Finger Paints’ Merry & Bright collection are clearly holiday-themed, but with a … well, bright twist. Red glitter Santa Kisses, silver glitter Frosty Night and bright blue glitter Drummer Boy are pretty and everything, but green-and-gold metallic Comet’s Collar, berry-fuchsia Yule Be Merry and teal-sky blue Winter Sky avoid the normal trappings of the season. Plus, the lower price-tag doesn’t hurt (either $3.79 or $4.99, your local Sally Beauty Supply).

+ Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolors collection (fourth photo). I know. You’ve had enough of the Kardashians. You don’t want to hear about Kim’s divorce. You didn’t even want to hear about her wedding. And now Kourtney is pregnant again. And Khloé’s marriage may suffer because her NBA player husband Lamar Odom got traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks. You are, quite perhaps, over it. But Nicole by OPI seriously unleashed some great shades in the 14-piece Kardashian Kolors collection, inspired by famous sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloé, their little sisters Kylie and Kendall and mom/manager Kris.
