OK, yes. Some of these ingredients sound strange to be slathering all over your body—black olives? Rice grains? Ximenia? But while your first impression may be a little skeptical, don’t get hung up on it. The Body Shop’s Spa Wisdom line uses ingredients specific to its chosen regions, so the Black Olive & Argan Oil Scrub is inspired by the Argan tree, native to Morocco; Adzuki Bean and Rice Washing Grains use sesame oil and milled rice, native to Japan; and Ximenia and Salt Scrub uses an oil extracted from the ximenia tree, native to Africa. Each works to give you delicate, smooth skin, gently moisturizing as you exfoliate.

Borba Firming Micro-Diamond Body Polish, Jurlique Body Exfoliating Gel, Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Exfoliating Body Scrub with Fine Pumice
The Body Shop certainly went for the unusual with their Spa Wisdom line, but Borba, Jurlique, and Crabtree & Evelyn stick closer to what we’re used to with scrubs made using walnut shells, peppermint, and pumice, all natural exfoliants.
Borba’s Firming Micro-Diamond Body Polish is designed to stimulate circulation, improve cell turnover, and promote firmer-looking skin, and boasts ingredients like soy and guanabana. Jurlique’s Body Exfoliating Gel has a slicker texture and is not as gritty as you would expect, with ingredients like witch hazel, avocado oil, rosemary, and tea tree oil. And Crabtree & Evelyn’s La Source Exfoliating Body Scrub with Fine Pumice, designed to be used twice a week, smells just like the sea and is blended with peppermint and emollient oils.
Either way you go, these products are a new spin on exfoliating classics, with a medley of natural ingredients that will help you feel good about scrubbing the bad out of your skin.
