Skin and bodycare brand Kiehl’s recently launched a version of their classic Ultra Facial Cream for “drier skin types.” Will it help clear up lingering winter dryness on your face?

How often do you change your skincare products? I’m usually testing things for About Face, and I generally stick to a three-week rotation for an item. I know my skin usually responds to cleansers, moisturizers, or serums in that time period, whether for better or worse—and about a month ago, it was for worse.
I was using a heavy Ole Henriksen cream each morning and night, and it was causing me to break out in dozens of little blisters around my face, especially on the apples of my cheeks and my chin. Whether I went to bed or woke up, they were there. So I cut my use of that product short, only a week into using it, waited a few days, and then switched to Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream – Intense Hydration, specifically formulated for “drier skin types.”
My minimum hope was that my breakouts would stop; my maximum that my skin would feel smoother and more moisturized. After two weeks of use, I have a verdict on Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream – Intense Hydration. For my thoughts, read on!
