L’Oreal expands its presence into haircare with the new EverCrème collection, while the company behind Burt’s Bees unveils its line of Güd Red Ruby Groovy products. Which line should you be picking up on your next trip to the drugstore?

I am 25 years old, and I have come to terms with my lion’s mane of a hairdo. It’s thick, it’s bushy, it’s frizzy, and I’m always finding strands of it stuck to my backpack or my couch or anywhere else I happen to be, but I’ve grown to love it. It is, however, quite finicky—an issue I’ve touched on quite often on this blog—and I’m always interested in trying new products to figure out what works. Thankfully, my hair reacts to products quite quickly, so this whole “testing products for About Face” thing works out well.
And so I was pretty excited to try not one, but two lines of new drugstore hair products: L’Oreal’s EverCrème and Güd’s Red Ruby Groovy. Both lines are available in your local CVS, Target, or Rite Aid, and each promises a moisturizing, nourishing experience for your hair. For this review, I received from their respective press companies L’Oreal EverCrème Intense Nourishing Shampoo, Intense Nourishing Conditioner, Cleansing Conditioner, and Deep Nourishing Masque, as well as Güd Red Ruby Groovy Natural Nourishing Shampoo, Natural Softening Conditioner, Natural Body Lotion, and Natural Body Wash. Over the course of two months, I tested these products, using L’Oreal EverCrème Nourishing Shampoo and Cleansing Conditioner first, then switching to Güd Red Ruby Groovy Natural Nourishing Shampoo and Natural Softening Conditioner, and using the other hair products and body products last.
So what do I think you should pick up? For my reviews, read on!
