About Face: Review of L’Oreal ‘Project Runway’ Colour Riche lipsticks

ElectricFantasieLipsticks ChesapeakeFamilyAboutFaceWhen L’Oreal teamed up with TV show ‘Project Runway’ for limited-edition cosmetics collections, we knew bright colors and interesting finishes were on the way. With the collection’s four Colour Riche lipsticks, unexpected shades are packed with shimmer—but the smell and wear time aren’t flawless.

I’m a “Project Runway” addict, which means I inevitably get frustrated each passing season. The challenges get increasingly ridiculous, the guest judges can be inconsistent, and the styling can just be so weird. Do real women really dress like this? The answer, as always, is no.

But what works most about “Project Runway” is the pageantry, something L’Oreal has captured really effectively with their makeup collections inspired by and created in partnership with the television show. There was last year’s Colors Take Flight collection, inspired by birds and full of pastel shades (which we featured on About Face), and this year we have the glittery, shimmery, almost neon collection of shades in the Electric Fantasie collection.

L’Oreal really covered its bases with the limited-edition Electric Fantasie, producing four mini collections—The Artsy Muse, The Enchanted Queen, The Seductive Temptress, and The Wise Mystic—each with a lipstick, lip gloss, eyeshadow quad (one of which we featured last month), nail polish, and blush. For this review, I’m focusing on the four Colour Riche lipsticks: 686 The Muse’s Kiss from The Artsy Muse; 286 The Queen’s Kiss from The Enchanted Queen; 786 The Temptress’s Kiss from The Seductive Temptress; and 486 The Mystic’s Kiss from The Wise Mystic.
