Dubble Trubble 2-in-1 Shampoo and Body Wash and Detangling Spray

The Dubble Trubble line is, according to company information, “free of any parabens … mineral oils or animal ingredients,” and “infused … with soothing organic Aloe Vera and moisturizing glycerine to ensure a very gentle yet powerful wash.” The line is six products total: five 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash combinations (in Cherry Bomb, Bananaberry, Strawberry, Watermelon, and Cool Cucumber) and one detangling conditioning spray (in Cool Cucumber). According to Dubble Trubble, strawberry is a gentle astringent, banana is healing, watermelon is rejuvenating, and cucumber is soothing. These ingredients make the products appropriate for “delicate bodies and scalps.”
Something to note, though: the products are not free of sulfates, an ingredient that creates suds that more companies are leaving out of their lines. So while the Dubble Trubble line is organic, the inclusion of sulfates—which can dry out your skin and scalp—should be noted.
I used the 2-in-1 shampoo/body wash hybrids for about a week each, and they are each clear gels housed in squeeze bottles. The fragrance is present but not overwhelming; I preferred the Strawberry and Cool Cucumber to Bananaberry, but that’s simply because I don’t like the banana scent in general. But these are overall quite subtle, and for me didn’t linger throughout the day. They lathered up well (maybe because of those sulfates?) and rinsed easily, which I think is a major selling point for parents who want to use the products on children in the bath or shower. I didn’t find these drying, but overall, I liked them more as body washes than as shampoos—I didn’t see any changes in the volume or moisture levels of my hair afterward, but my skin did feel softer. So I think I would rank these as better body products than hair products, and I think the Strawberry and Cool Cucumber are preferable to the Bananaberry.
How about the Detangling Conditioner Spray in Cool Cucumber? Well, that was actually my favorite product here. The spray is light and nicely fragrant, and I thought it worked very well on detangling my hair both when it was wet and dry. It didn’t weigh down on my hair or make it feel gunky, but at the same time, it didn’t make it feel particularly conditioner, either. It was a very good detangler, but not an especially wonderful moisturizer.
So what do I think overall? I think these products will be fun for younger users because they smell nice and work moderately well. For older users, I don’t think they’ll end up permanently replacing anything in your repertoire because they don’t offer all the moisturizing abilities you might want, but you can certainly use them every so often without telling your kids that you’re stealing their products. They’ll get over it.
VERDICT: B for both the 2-in-1 Shampoo and Body Wash and the Detangling Conditioner Spray if you’re using for yourself, but B+ as children’s products.
