In our world of laptops and cell phones, how often do you really use a pen or pencil? I use them to take notes in class every day, but that’s not exactly exciting—which is why I’m grateful for lip and eye makeup pencils. Something about pencil packaging feels comfortable and familiar, and I’m more likely to grab one of these for a fast makeup look instead of searching all over my bathroom for brushes and pots of product.
But there are downsides, of course: Since you have to sharpen these crayons and pencils, you lose a little bit of product each time, and they may be overly mushy or too creamy. So how do pencils from British invasion brand Topshop, Target-exclusive brand Sonia Kashuk, and makeup powerhouse Sephora measure up?
