Crunching numbers and summer vacation go hand-in-hand sometimes.
For Paige and Maddie Andrus of Gambrills and Trey and Morgan Miller of Severna Park, math camp is the highlight of the summer.
“I just can’t believe my kids want to sit through two weeks of math camp in the summer, but they think math camp is fun,” says Linda Andrus, mother to Paige, 11, and Maddie, 9.
The Andrus and Miller children have been attending a summer enrichment camp for a couple years. Though these camps, some of which carry hefty registration fees, are not labeled “summer school,” their primary focus is on education. And education experts say that’s what every child needs in the summer.
