Admission Price Drop at Maryland Zoo

As the calendar changes and temperatures drop, so does the admission price and hours at the Maryland Zoo. Beginning on January 1, the Zoo will be open Friday through Monday between 10 AM – 4 PM, and admission will drop to just $17 per person (down from $26 during the regular season).

Each January and February, the Zoo drops its admission and operating hours to reflect reduced visitor and animal activity during the coldest months of the year.

“Just like people, many animals prefer to stay warm indoors this time of year,” said Maryland Zoo President & CEO, Kirby Fowler.

“The variety of animals you’ll be able to see each day depends on the weather conditions. We make every effort to give our guests an amazing experience, but the health and safety of our animals are always our top priorities,” Fowler said.

Animals such as the prairie dogs, African penguins, Amur leopard, cheetahs, lions, and otters are likely to be visible in the colder weather. Visitors may also enjoy animals like chimpanzees and giraffes in their indoor areas.

The Zoo will return to its normal hours and pricing on March 1st.
