Annapolis Area Christian School  (AACS) announced plans to open a second elementary school campus in Severn in the fall of 2015, serving grades kindergarten through 5th grade. This marks the fourth AACS location in Anne Arundel County. The new campus expands the AACS ministry to a new part of the county, offering families in the Severn area a comprehensive educational program within a Christian environment.
Rick Kempton, Superintendent of AACS, said “Ever since we moved our Upper School to Severn, we receive regular calls from parents in the Severn area looking for a local option for their young children. Our Annapolis Lower School is thriving and we’re excited to bring that same opportunity to families in and around Severn beginning next year.”
The new Lower School will be located at Grace Pointe Community Church on Gambrills Road in Severn. Grace Pointe has a large and beautiful new facility with plenty of room for offices, classrooms, meeting space, playground, and playing fields.
Karl Graustein will serve as the principal. He is already on staff at AACS and leading the charge to develop this additional campus. Karl has 21 years of Christian school experience. Most recently Karl served as Headmaster of a PreK-8 school in Georgia.
Principal Graustein states, “I am excited to join the AACS team, and we are thrilled to start a new Lower School campus in Severn. We want to reach the hearts and minds of young people, and the new campus will expand this opportunity to elementary students in the Severn area.”
AACS is seeking to recruit the very best teachers and staff for the new campus. AACS leaders plan to hire six full-time teachers, two full-time staff members, and various part-time teachers. They are seeking credentialed, well-trained, strong Christians who have a passion for Christian schooling and the mission of AACS.
“Applications for admission are now being accepted” said Graustein. “The first Open House is on  December 2, 2014, at 9:00 a.m.”
