Films for teens at first film festival
There will also be a student showcase of 15 films made by high school, college and graduate students. It will run noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 24 at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts and is free to the public.
Several other films that may appeal to teens include a documentary called “Get Together Girls” about six teens from Nairobi, Kenya who were taken in off the streets and taught fashion designing by an Italian woman, and “Only The Young,” based on three California teens trying to find meaning in their lives and their friendships.
“By showing unique films that would not ordinarily be accessible for screening, we hope to open up the film interest and appetite of our town,” says artistic director, Patti White.
Ticket prices include options to attend a single film, a block of films, or the entire festival. Individual tickets are $10 or $75 for a four-day pass. Students under 25 may purchase tickets for $8 or a student pass for $40.
Pick up tickets at the film’s welcome center, located in the Breeze Lounge inside the Annapolis Loews Hotel. Venues include Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts, Banneker Douglas Museum, Bay Theatre, St. John’s College, and St. Anne’s Parish House.
