More than 3 million Americans have glaucoma and half are unaware they have it, while cataracts are the leading cause of vision loss in adults 65+. For these reasons, Dr. Samuel Boles, Medical Director of Anne Arundel Eye Center, and his entire team including Dr. Kathryn Gurganus, Consultative Optometrist, love to care for their community. Their passion is excellent patient care, and education of the whole family on the prevention of vision loss and blindness.

After receiving his medical degree from Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Boles completed his post-doctoral training at Harvard University, Yale University, George Washington University, and University of California, San Diego. He founded the Glaucoma Co-Management Roundtable and is on the Board of Directors for The Polakoff Foundation and The Maryl and Society for Sight. Anne Arundel Eye Center’s Annapolis and Eastern Shore offices are state-of-the-art treatment centers offering complete ophthalmic exams as well as surgical eye care, with a specialty in cataracts and glaucoma.
