There are plenty of ways to celebrate the warmer weather and spring season. You can take a family stroll to explore the different animals that share our ecosystem, from native turtles to creepy crawly spiders. You could also make a tasty treat to celebrate springtime!

Cookie Decorating

April 1, 4 p.m. & 5:30 p.m.

Decorate sugar cookies inspired by the spring season at the Broadneck Library in Annapolis. Learn basic piping and decorating techniques through this half-hour workshop open to all.

Rock and Stroll

April 5, noon – 2 p.m.

Paint rocks, learn about a native turtle species through a story and leisurely hike to the pond. Watch our shelled friends in their habitat at Fort Smallwood Park in Pasadena.

Otter Trot 5K

April 12, 8 a.m.

Support the Calvert Marine Museum by running or walking in a 5K race in Solomons; proceeds will help build a new enclosure for the museum’s two North American river otters.

Pre-K Explorers: Spiders

April 16, 10-11:30 a.m.

Bring your little ones to explore nature in this class that features a story time, outdoor movement and a craft or activity at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary in Lothian.
