Summer Fun: Go Rock Wall Climbing

Rock Wall climbing centers offer fun and exercise for all ages to enjoy!

Climbing builds strength, confidence and trust and is a great family activity. Here are a few rock climbing locations in the Baltimore/Annapolis area that are open to the public.

Movement are indoor climbing gyms located in Columbia, Baltimore, Timonium, and Rockville. Each climbing gym is among the largest in the country, with plenty of climbing for every ability level.

Climb to the top of Jack’s giant beanstalk, negotiate an enormous spider web, reach for the stars aboard a giant space rocket, rise to the top of the Empire State Building, scale the ancient bones of a T-Rex, or look each of the Presidents on Mt. Rushmore in the eye. ClimbZone has a ton of activities and climb structures for kids and adults.

The Terrapin Tower offers a two-sided outside climbing wall that ranges from easy to difficult. The tower also has cargo nets, tires and logs to climb on and is open daily for recreation.

The Rec Center offers a wide variety of recreational and leisure activities for the entire family including a rock climbing wall that any child over the age of 5 may use. Hours are Tuesdays & Wednesdays, noon–8 p.m.
