The Baltimore Animal Welfare Alliance (BAWA) is holding the Baltimore 500: A Race to Save Lives throughout the month of June. The goal is to save the lives of 500 cats and kittens during national Adopt-a-Cat month, when shelters are often crowded with felines. Cats and kittens can be adopted at no charge at the Maryland SPCA , Baltimore Humane Society and Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter, all BAWA members along with Baltimore City Animal Control. Regular adoption procedures apply. A free wellness exam is available at Cat Hospital at Towson (CHAT) to Baltimore 500 adopters.
