Take the kids to see fighter jets thundering through the sky and amazing naval vessels in the Inner Harbor along with other entertainment at Maryland Fleet Week & Air Show in Baltimore Oct. 3–9.
The event celebrates the naval traditions of the Chesapeake Bay and the contributions of Marylanders to the defense of the nation. Fleet Week will include an air show featuring the USAF Thunderbirds, military ship tours, schooners and a festival at the Inner Harbor.
The air show will be held Oct. 6–7 and will feature precision flight demonstrations from the US Navy, US Air Force, US Coast Guard, Royal Canadian Air Force, Geico Skytypers, Scott Francis Airshows and more. The show will take place between noon and 4 p.m. over Fort McHenry. The finale is a demonstration by the Thunderbirds.
Sites to view the air show include Fort McHenry, MedStar Harbor Hospital, Canton Waterfront Park and many other spots along the water. over the two days you can also check out the open house at Martin State airport on Middle River, where you can meet pilots, see the planes up close and more.
Fleet Week vessels will include more than a dozen ships from Canada and various branches of the United States military including destroyers, transport ships, guided-missile cruisers and more.
A Fleet Week Festival at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor Oct. 5–7 will include exhibitors, live music, food and drink and more between Pratt and Light streets from 1–6 p.m. There will be a Military Exploration Zone, maritime activities and family fun, and Maryland-inspired food and beer garden at West Shore Park.
