Cape St. Claire, a suburb of Annapolis in Anne Arundel County, is known as a best community for families because of the location, wealth of amenities, friendly neighbors and good schools. A waterfront community, the Cape St. Claire peninsula is bordered by the Magothy and Severn Rivers and the Chesapeake Bay. The Main Beach is at the mouth of the Magothy River and has an amazing view of the Chesapeake Bay. On a clear day you can see all the way to Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

The nicely protected neighborhood marinas accommodate nearly 200 boats, and are only minutes from breath taking views of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Events throughout the year provide residents and their children ample opportunities to meet their neighbors.

Cape St. Claire is a covenanted, unincorporated community with an Improvement Association that manages the affairs of the community and administers the funds of the Special Community Benefit District.

Demographics

There are 3,250 residences in Cape St. Claire with 8,729 residents. Nearly all housing is single family homes and 88.1% are lived in by the owners. 39.5% of households have children under the age of 18. The minority population of Cape St. Claire amounts to 8.3% of their residents, as compared to the state of Maryland average of 41.8%.

Cape St. Claire has abundant opportunities for recreation, from the community marina and beaches, to playgrounds, pools and wooded trails. The community is walkable with a grocery store and small shopping area at the entrance.
