Go fly a kite at the Blossom Kite Festival in Washington D.C. – a free event for families with kids of all ages!
All you have to do is either hop on the Metro or drive down to the Washington Monument grounds for this free kite-flying extravaganza! The event is held in conjunction with the National Cherry Blossom Festival . The entire family can watch expert kite fliers from all over the world participate in the Hot Tricks Showdown, a stunt kite-flying event. Make sure you bring your camera and a kite of your own! If you don’t own one, no worries – kids can make their own at an activity station while supplies last. Kites will also be available for purchase.

The Blossom Kite Festival is from 10 am to 4:30 pm. Again, admission is free and this is a family friendly event. The Washington Monument Grounds are located at 17th Street NW and Constitution Avenue NW, a short walk from the Metro!
