Budget Friendly Family Fun Day at Senior Center

AA-Department-of-AgingAnnapolis, MD – The community, including grandparents and their families, is invited to attend B.F.F.F.D. at the South County Senior Activity Center, 27 Stepneys Lane, Edgewater, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17.

The Budget Friendly Family Fun Day replaces the annual Backyard Carnival previously held at the center and will be much more reasonably priced for participants, says Sharon Poet, center director. The only charge will be for the food.

Entertainment includes The Unicycle Lady, who advertises her performance as a “One Woman Wheelie Witty Wacky Silly Suitcase Circus Show with her dog Enzo.” In addition to hot dogs and sodas, there will be a bake sale, music, and “Win It in a Minute” games. The center is seeking donations of new school supplies to give as game prizes to youth, and is soliciting baked goods for the sale.

At 1 p.m. everyone can walk over to the adjacent Anne Arundel County Public Library’s Edgewater Branch for a “Colorings Event” which will include children and adults coloring a variety of projects.

For information, call the South County Senior Activity Center at 410-222-1927 or 410-798-4802. The center is one of seven senior activity centers operated by the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities.
