January 22nd is the Maryland Chamber's Business Day in Annapolis, and a delegation from most of the chambers in our region will be attending. This year the event will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 noon in order to attract more business people to visit with the legislators in Annapolis and hear the Senate President, Speaker and minority leaders address key priorities for the 2009 General Assembly session.
A continental breakfast/registration will begin at 8 a.m. in the Miller Senate Office Building, followed by the Leadership Briefing at 8:30 a.m. Opportunities to visit local delegates, sit in on the General Assembly session, or hear the State Comptroller speak will follow, and the event officially ends at noon.
Members of a chamber who would like to attend should register through the chamber office to get the Maryland Chamber member rate of $75. This event is an excellent opportunity to show the General Assembly that business owners really do care about what happens in Annapolis – very important in a year when they will be looking for places to raise revenue again.
