It’s Back to School week and the roads are once again filled with big yellow school buses.

Just how many students are flooding back?

Here’s Back to School by the numbers:

 

 

 

  • 79,000 students will attend school in Anne Arundel County during the 2013-2014 school year.

  • $918,891,100 – Total Operating Fund Revenue for 2013 for Anne Arundel County.

  • 662,000 spent driving 600 buses over 10.4 million miles to pick up and drop off 58,000 students.

  • 5 million lunches and 2.3 millon breakfasts served by end of last year.

  • $1.35- cost of breakfast at school

  • $2.60-$2.85- cost of lunch at elementary and middle schools.

  • 1 new STEM program at Old Mill Middle School South

  • 1 new Superintendent- Mamie J. Perkins
