If you have always wanted to share your thoughts and ideas about family engagement in schools, now is your chance!
Anne Arundel County Public Schools Office of School & Family Partnerships is now accepting applications for openings on the Superintendent’s Parent Involvement Advisory Council (PIAC). Members of the council provide input to the superintendent on ways to increase family engagement in schools.
The Council consists of two representatives from each of the 13 high school clusters, along with appointed representatives from several parent and teacher groups. This year two current members have shifted to seats representing the newly-established Crofton Cluster, resulting in openings in the South River and Arundel clusters. The entire list of vacancies is below.
Applicants must have a child in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Members serve two-year terms. The Council conducts morning meetings six times a year at the Parham Administration Building in Annapolis.
The following seats are currently open:
Glen Burnie Cluster
North County Cluster
Old Mill Cluster
Severna Park Cluster
South River Cluster
To apply, simply complete the application which can be found here and follow the instructions for submission. To be considered, applications must be received by July 6, 2020. Appointees will be notified in late August.
