Celebrate American Craft Beer Week with Maryland events

American Craft Beer Week poster 2015If you enjoy craft beer, toast the industry during American Craft Beer Week May 11-17, 2015, by celebrating with a few Maryland craft brews. With more than 3,400 small and independent craft brewers in the U.S., 34 are in Maryland, with another 10 in Delaware. Check out a few ways to enjoy and learn more about craft beer during American Craft Beer Week in the Baltimore-Annapolis area:

Baltimore Beer Babes at The Brewer’s Art in Baltimore
Monday, May 11, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The Brewer’s Art in Baltimore, 1106 N. Charles St., Baltimore
Women are invited to join the Baltimore Beer Babes at The Brewer’s Art in Baltimore to try Belgian-inspired beer styles brewed by one of the original craft breweries in Baltimore. Heavy Seas Beer near Baltimore has three special events planned for American Craft Beer Week:

Heavy Seas Blackbeard's Breakfast beer and mugBlackbeard’s Breakfast Release Party
Wednesday, May 13, 3-9 p.m.
Heavy Seas Beer Taproom, 4615 Hollins Ferry Rd., Halethorpe
Try the new Imperial coffee porter, Blackbeard’s Breakfast, brewed with Chesapeake Bay Roasting Company’s Dark Sumatra coffee, when a wooden firkin is tapped at 4 p.m. Eight other beers will be on tap, including a couple of others with coffee additions. Bomber bottles (22 ounces) of Blackbeard’s Breakfast will be available to purchase along with a limited number of Blackbeard’s Breakfast mugs, which will sell for $24.95.

Heavy Seas Brews Cruise: ’90s Pop Throwbacks in Fells Point
Thursday, May 14, 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Sail around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor with Heavy Seas and Urban Pirates and enjoy hits from the 1990s as well as Heavy Seas beer. Meet at the dock at the end of S. Ann Street at 8:30 p.m. The cruise leaves at 9 p.m. and returns at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $30, including boat ride, beer and entertainment. Purchase tickets here.

Heavy Seas will tap four pins, or small casks, each dry hopped with a single hop from a different region of the world: U.S., United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia.

Buffalo Wild Wings locations will feature local and regional craft beer on tap during May.

Then end the week with the Chesapeake Bay Blues Festival, May 16 and 17, with brews and blues music at Sandy Point State Park. Tickets are $65 for one day or $115 for both days.

May 30 is the Maryland Craft Beer Festival in Frederick.
