Celebrate Hanukkah in Maryland and D.C.

It’s time for to celebrate the Festival of Lights! Hanukkah starts at sundown on Dec. 10 so check out the events below happening from Baltimore to Washington, D.C.

All Community Hanukkah Celebration
December 18
Bring your chanukkiot (menorahs) and celebrate the Festival of Lights with music, dance, dinner, candle lighting, and dreidel games! Fun for the whole family. RSVP preferred to [email protected] Chanukah gift shop sale from 4 – 6 p.m. Come early for adult learning or Jewish papercutting and Chanukah text study with our Rabbis at 4 – 5 p.m. There will be a special surprise event at 7 pm that you won’t want to miss!

National Menorah Lighting
December 18
Music by the Military Bands of the Military District of Washington perform at the lighting ceremony, as well as food, entertainment and special guests. Free, ticket required, limited seating. Gates open at 3 p.m., celebration at 4 p.m.

Join in as we light the first candle on the Menorah in celebration of the Hanukkah season on December 18 at 6pm. Located across from Charm City Run.

Mishkan Torah Hanukkah Party
December 18
Join Mishkan Torah for an in-person Hanukkah Party on the first night of Hanukkah, December 18, 5pm-7pm. We will have a community candle lighting, latkes with fixings and gelt, and a Hanukkah play by our Karp Family School students. All ages are welcome, and members and guests are welcome to attend. An RSVP is appreciated.

Illumination Celebration: FireLight

One-of-a-Kind Family Chanukah Spectacle. Kick off the Festival of Lights with Community! Join in for a candle lighting, music, and an incredible show of dazzling light and brilliant stunts. Food and beverages (including adult beverages) will be available for purchase.

Hanukkah Extravaganza
December 19
Families and members of all ages are invited to join Beth Shalom Congregation’s annual Hanukkah Extravaganza. This year, enjoy not only games, crafts and traditional Hanukkah foods, but a Jewish Camp Fair as well! Sisterhood will have their Judaica shop open for any last minute Hanukkah items you need. LoudBeads custom jewelry will be onsite to sell and take orders!

Join Chizuk Amuno Congregation & Schools and Beth El Congregation for their Annual Hanukkah Lights up the Sky event! Dinner, activities for kids and fireworks.

Annual Hanukkah Concert with The Baltimore Klezmer All-Stars

A klezmer and jazz-filled romp through the 5th night of Hanukkah.

Chanukah Wonderland

Presented in partnership with Chabad of Park Heights, Chanukah Wonderland has fun-filled activities for the entire family! A Variety of Chanukah Arts & Crafts, Olive Press Demonstrations, Moon Bounces, Toddler Corner, Photo Booth, 10% off Food for Purchase at Chef Dan’s Café at the J, and more!
