Help raise money for Annapolis-area charities while raising a mug of beer during Annapolis Beer Week, with special events Saturday, April 18-25, 2015.
No matter how you enjoy your beer, you’ll likely find an event to enjoy. Listen to live bands, sail aboard a schooner and enjoy a few laughs with comedians.
New this year is an event that focuses on home brewing and craft beers. And, for the first time, a 14- and 30-mile cycling event has been added, which includes entry into the popular Beer Run Festival.
The Maryland Chicken Wing and Beer Festival continues for the second year, the only family-friendly event during Annapolis Beer Week, along with multiple special Beer Week events at Annapolis pubs and restaurants. Tickets are sold separately for events.
At least one event is happening every day of the week. Here are just a few highlights:
Saturday, April 18
3rd Annual Beer Run, Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds, Crownsville
Gates and registration open at 11 a.m. with beer trucks and entertainment beginning at noon. Race for serious runners starts 1 p.m., others at 2 p.m. Ends at 4 p.m.
Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place women and men. Four-person teams can sign up on-site. The fastest four-person team will get a prize. Prizes also awarded for best dressed.
Admission: $35 race only (includes a T-shirt), $65 race and beer (T-shirt and unlimited beer before, during and after race). You must be 21 or older and have a photo ID to register and to enter the fairgrounds. Event is rain or shine with no refunds.
Pre-race registration is Friday, April 17, 4-8 p.m. at the Greene Turtle Annapolis.

Bicycle 2 Beer, Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds
Inaugural Bicycle 2 Beer event held in conjunction with the Beer Run includes a 14- or 30-mile on-road scenic route through the Crownsville/Davidsonville area.
Cyclists meet at the fairgrounds in the morning, ride, and then enjoy the Beer Run festival with live entertainment, food and more than 40 beers.
Must be 21 or older to ride and enter the festival.
Tickets: $35 for the ride and T-shirt, $65 for ride and festival (includes T-shirt and unlimited beer) or a $100 VIP ticket that also includes a Bike Like A Girl water bottle, two Fat Tire Bike raffle tickets and a photo with the Bike Like A Girl riding team.

Sunday, April 19
Beer and Bands, Stan & Joe’s Saloon West, Annapolis
Several Maryland bands play in the parking lot. Bands include Dunns and Drummers, Higher Hands and Mark Hopkins and the Hotel Also sample unique brews. A Dead Rise Bloody Mary Bar will be open before the events.
Tickets: $20, includes three beer samples. Additional samples and pours available for purchase.
Schooner Woodwind Beer Cruise, Marriot Waterfront Hotel, Annapolis
Sail aboard the 74-foot Schooner Woodwind for an afternoon sail while tasting four beers from Port City Brewing Company and Devils Backbone Brewing Company and oysters.
Tickets: $56, includes 4-ounce tasting sample, two oyster shooters, pint glass, soft drink and a snack. Additional beer and oysters available for purchase.

Thursday, April 23
Beer and Bacon, Fado Irish Pub, Annapolis
Join the Annapolis Area Social Meetup Group to meet new friends while enjoying combinations of beer and bacon.
Tickets: $20, includes two beers and bacon.

Friday, April 24
Pints for Paws: Annapolis Homebrew & Craft Beer Festival, The Meadow at Park Place, Annapolis
Inaugural event celebrates Naptown’s homebrewing scene and contribution to Maryland craft beer. Sample more than 15 beers from the Annapolis homebrew club and nine craft beers from Maryland. Adoptable pets will be there, too!
Tickets: $25 advance, $30 at the gate; includes commemorative glass and beer samples.
Proceeds benefit the SPCA of Anne Arundel County
Saturday, April 25
Maryland Chicken Wing & Beer Festival, Maryland National Guard Armory, Annapolis
11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Taste chicken wings from around the area while enjoying local and regional beers.
Tickets: $15 includes first wing and first beer; additional wings and beer samples $1. Minors are allowed in with paying adult for $10; under 12 free.

Drafts and Laughs: Humor, Heroes and Hops, Maryland National Guard Armory, Annapolis
This comedy night is dedicated to the military with several veteran and wounded warrior comedians performing, including Stephen Rice and Joe Kashnows.
