Chesapeake Family Takes the Gold at the Annual Parenting Publications of America conference
Annapolis, MD (March 9, 2011)—Parenting Publications of America (PPA) gave out over 365 Editorial, Design and Web Site Competition awards to 72 parenting newspapers and magazines at a banquet on March 5, 2011, the climax of the three-day PPA Annual Convention in Arlington, VA.
PPA’s Editorial, Design and Web Site Awards Competition recognizes excellence in journalism, photography and design achieved by publishers, editors, writers and designers at member publications. A panel of 25 judges reviewed 915 entries from 75 publications to choose the winners in each category.
Chesapeake Family was recognized for Design and Web Site excellence in the following categories:
- A Gold award for our June 2010 original illustration design;
- A Silver award for Web Site Content;
- A Gold award for Web Site General Excellence.

Established in March 1988, PPA is a national trade association of regional parenting publications that reaches from Seattle to Boston and from Minneapolis to Miami, and to Canada and Australia. Some of the publications are tabloid newspapers; others are magazines, with 4-color, glossy covers.
