Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program for Maryland Teens

Have a preteen or teen interested in aviation and emergency services?

Join the Civil Air Patrol Cadet program!!! Teens from 12 to 18 years of age are eligible to join this outstanding aviation based leadership training program.

Through Civil Air Patrol’s Cadet Program, young people develop leadership skills, learn about aviation, and participate in search & rescue missions.  Activities include flying, camping, first aid training, and an international Aviation Cadet Exchange!

Civil Air Patrol, the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, is a nonprofit organization with more than 61,000 members nationwide. CAP, in its Air Force auxiliary role, performs 90 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and was credited by the with saving 113 lives in 2010. Its volunteers also perform homeland security and disaster relief missions at the request of federal, state and local agencies. The members play a leading role in aerospace education and serve as mentors to the more than 26,000 young people currently participating in CAP cadet programs. CAP has been performing missions for America for 69 years. There are more than 1,500 members of CAP in Maryland. Last year Maryland CAP volunteers  members flew 42 search and rescue missions and were credited with 31 finds.

College Park Squadron meets the first four Wednesdays each month from 7:00-9:00 PM in the Hap Arnold Center (1909 Cpl. Frank Scott Drive) at College Park Airport, College Park, MD.
