Clydesdales and Santa arrive for opening of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor ice rink

ClydesdalesDon’t miss a parade featuring the Budweiser Clydesdales this weekend kicking off the opening weekend of the Waterfront Partnership Ice Rink in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Santa will make his first visit too!

The Budweiser Clydesdale Horses will depart Rash Field and parade along the Inner Harbor promenade to McKeldin Square, crossing at the Harborplace Amphitheatre. Prime viewing locations include West Shore Park, Bicentennial Plaza and the Harborplace Amphitheatre.

The event will kick off at 11 a.m. and run to 1 p.m. There will also be a photo opportunity with the horses.

From 4-6 p.m., lace up your skates, interact with costumed characters, take in breathtaking skating performances by The Next Ice Age, and be a part of Santa’s Arrival to the Inner Harbor for this Holiday Season. The Next Ice Age is a dance company on ice, which was founded in 1988 in Baltimore.

Santa and his friends from around the Inner Harbor will parade from the ice rink to his home for the season at the Inner Harbor Amphitheatre.

The first 100 kids registered will receive free skating, holiday treats, and signature souvenirs. Visit the Waterfront Partnership Ice Rink website for details on Santa’s arrival.

The ice rink is located in McKeldin Square. Admission to the skate rink is $9 and $7 for seniors, children and military. Skate rentals are $3. Season pass is $175 with or without skates. The rink will be open Saturday until 10 p.m. The rink is open daily with the following hours:

  • Nov. 21, 2014 – Jan. 19, 2015*
  • Monday: 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday – Thursday: 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Friday: 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Sunday: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Special Holiday Hours

  • Thanksgiving Day: 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Christmas Eve: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Christmas Day: 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Dec. 26th – Jan. 2nd: 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
