Countdown to America’s 250th Anniversary

Happy Fourth! This year, we’ll officially be at the one-year countdown to America’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Aside from traditional holiday celebrations on July 4, Maryland’s state capital holds a lot of history ripe for exploring with your family throughout the year. To help with planning, Visit Annapolis has put together a “Top 13 America 250” historic spots to explore in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County.

A page dedicated to the 250th anniversary celebration lists other historic sites, such as houses of the Maryland signers of the Declaration of Independence, as well as a collection of places that offer family-friendly programming throughout the year. Check the calendar for events this July to celebrate Independence Day.
