Crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay – Summer Fun

100 Days of Summer - Day 65

Nothing says Chesapeake Bay summertime like a day on the water fishing for crabs.

Crabbing is a great way to entertain the kids because it’s more active than fishing and you can do it either from a pier or from a boat.

The most basic way to catch a crab is to use a sturdy string with bait tied at one end and a net.

Many of the crabbing piers and parks have beaches, walking trails, playgrounds and picnic areas nearby, making them great destinations for a Sunday family day.

As an added bonus, whatever you catch you get to eat!
