Jimmie’s Chicken Shack
Jimmie’s Chicken Shack emerged through MTV as one of the first post-grunge bands of the era. Blending funk-metal with elements of ska and reggae but also a surprising acoustic prowess. This local band, and local favorite is sure to put on a good show. $25. 8 p.m. Rams Head on Stage, Annapolis. 

Friday, December 27

Military Bowl and Parade
Naptown’s big bowl game kicks off with a fantastic parade up Main Street, led by the Budweiser Clydesdale horses. Then head to the Navy-Marine Corps Stadium for the big game! Parade begins at 9 a.m. Bowl game, noon. 

Georgetown Glow: Light Art Festival
Through Jan. 5. Experience the sparkle of the season at Georgetown GLOW, a spectacular outdoor public light art installations. 5–10 p.m. Georgetown Waterfront Park, Washington. 

Saturday, December 28

Love, Factually
Through Dec. 29. This holiday satire from the twisted minds at Second City, gets to the truth of December life, love, and romance. Whether you love or hate the movie Love, Actually, you’re going to fall in love with this mashup of parody, original comedy, music, improv, and audience participation. $50–$75. Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C. 

Battle of the Birdland Wing Festival
A wing-eating competition, sauce competition and facemelter challenge (waiver required) mark this fourth annual wing festival. Noon–4 p.m. $25. Delia Foley’s, Baltimore. 

A Christmas Carol
Weekends through Dec. 29. Adapted from the novel by Charles Dickens, “A Christmas Carol” is a beloved holiday performance. $30–$40. Annapolis Shakespeare Company, Annapolis. 

Holiday Candlelight Stroll
Fridays and Saturdays (except Dec. 14). Holiday walk through downtown Annapolis. $12–$21. 7–8:30 p.m. Downtown Annapolis.
