Here are our top picks for February 7 to 9, from a chocolate, wine and whiskey festival to a free Naval Academy Band concert at Maryland Hall and even a Celtic celebration at Rams Head.

7 Friday

Furniture Painting 101 Workshop
Learn the basics, including prep, painting, distressing and sealing. Supplies provided. $100. 5:30–8:30 p.m. Vintage by the Bay, Deale. 

Block Printing Workshop
Learn how to carve your own block and block print onto beautiful paper. Block printing artist extraordinaire, Anita Hagan will be here to teach you all you need to know. $65. 6–9 p.m. ArtFarm, Annapolis. 

Blues & Gold Concert
The Naval Academy Band’s newest ensemble, Blues & Gold, will perform at Maryland Hall. Under the direction of Chief Musician Rory Cherry, Blues & Gold will perform classic blues and blues-infused music from artists such as B.B. 9 to 5 the Musical
Feb. 7–8. Violet, Judy, and Doralee three downtrodden working women at Consolidated Industries suffer under the tyranny of the sexist, lecherous, and pompous, Franklin Hart. Featuring the music from the beloved classic movie and narration from Dolly Parton. $20. 8 p.m.; Doors open at 7 p.m. Chesapeake Arts Center, Brooklyn Park.

You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown
Weekends through Feb. 22. The classic musical comedy based on the characters created by cartoonist Charles M. Schulz in his comic strip, Peanuts. Book, Music, and Lyrics are by Clark Gesner, with additional work by Michael Mayer and Andrew Lippa. Your favorite PEANUTS characters will sing, dance, and act their way through a two hour reminder of what it’s like to be a child. $15-$25. Times vary. Bowie Playhouse, Bowie.

Motor Trend International Auto Show
Feb. 6–9. This annual show features over 500 new cars and trucks, one-of-a-kind supercars, and custom creations. Plus a racing simulator, test drives and more. $11; ages 12 and under, free. Thurs. noon–9 p.m.; Fri.–Sat. 10 a.m.–9 p.m.; Sun. 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Baltimore Convention Center.

Pet Portrait Painting Workshop

Binology 101: Basics of Wine Tasting

7th Annual Chili Cook-Off
Benefiting BARCS Animal Shelter and sponsored by Bell’s Brewery just $10 to taste lots of delicious chili! Noon-4 p.m. The Wharf Rat, Baltimore.

DC Chocolate, Wine & Whiskey Festival
Enjoy chocolate in a multitude of decadent presentations – from sweet hand-rolled truffles to oooey goooey melted chocolate fondue and an amazing selection of bean-to-bar artisan chocolates – Quench your thirst with Champagne, Prosecco and premium wines and a sip of fine whiskies! Video Games and Dance Party
HiScore Annapolis hosts a weekly adults-only video game night that mixes the atmosphere of bars and nightclubs with gaming!
The events feature professional gaming tournaments, A massive array of consoles and party games, Live DJs, and Food drink Specials! $5. 7 p.m.–1 a.m. Union Jacks, Annapolis. 

Maggie’s Celtic Celebration at Rams Head On Stage
Maggie Sansone, Karen Ashbrook, Paul Oorts, Seth Kibel, Laura Byrne, Jimmy Eagan, David McKindley-Ward and Culkin LIVE-Irish Step Dancers all live in a matinee performance. 1-5 p.m. Doors open at noon. $25. Rams Head on Stage, Annapolis.
