Discounted admission, zookeeper for a day drawing at Maryland Zoo

Pay a fraction of the admission price for your kids at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore on Memorial Day, May 29, and enter to win a chance to be zookeeper for a day.

Zoo MD River OtterFor the “529 Day Celebration,” (on 5/29) the first 500 children to enter the zoo will pay a special admission price of $5.29, almost $10 off the regular child’s admission. The event is sponsored by the Maryland 529 college savings plan. Representatives of Maryland 529 will be onsite to answer questions about saving for college using their two 529 plans.

“Maryland 529 is excited to partner with the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore to help increase awareness among families about the importance of saving for their children’s higher education expenses,” said Lauren Shipley, Maryland 529 executive director.

A random drawing is also being held for the “Zookeeper for a Day” experience, a $529 Maryland College Investment Plan account and a free family membership to The Maryland Zoo.

As “Zookeeper for a Day,” one child along with his or her guests will win a special behind-the-scenes zoo tour. The winner will meet and interact with Maryland Zoo keeper staff, plus get exclusive access to animal care facilities.

To enter your child in the drawing, complete the online form on the Maryland Zoo website, marylandzoo.org. Registration is open from now through June 23, 2017, and the drawing to select a winner will take place on June 26, 2017. For more information and restrictions, visit the website.
