Easy Family Recipes: Tasty BBQ Beef Brisket

Easy BBQ Beef BrisketBBQ beef brisket is one of my favorite summer must-cook dishes, but seriously, who has all day to sit outside and man the smoker to cook it? Not me! Just like you, I’m super busy and have neither the time nor the patience to spend the day cooking a slab of beef. Not to worry! This recipe has a quick start on the grill for a little smoky flavor, then finishes the job in the oven. It’s a low maintenance dish to make ahead then gently warm before serving to guests.



Tasty BBQ Beef Brisket

Servings: 4

  • 1/4 cup Heinz Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup real maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons diced shallots
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2-3 pounds beef brisket

For marinade, place all ingredients, except for brisket, in a storage container and shake well until mixed. Reserve 1/4 cup of marinade to the side. Pierce brisket with fork on both sides to allow marinade to penetrate meat. Place brisket in a bag with the marinade and make sure meat is well coated. Marinate brisket in the refrigerator for 1-3 hours. Preheat grill to medium high heat and preheat oven to 350°F. Grill brisket for 6-8 minutes each side, then wrap brisket in foil, place into a baking dish, and bake in oven for 1 1/2 hours, until tender.

Remove brisket and brush with reserved marinade. Let rest for 3-5 minutes before slicing across the grain.
