Economic Indicators for A.A. Co. 2nd Qtr 2008
Good News 
The rest of the nation may be struggling but Anne Arundel County recently released some positive news for the region.
For the first six months of 2008 2,481 more jobs were created and unemployment was 3.4%, up slightly from the previous year's 2.9%
 
For the entire state of Maryland unemployment for the same period was 3.8%, still well under the national average of 6%.
26,423 new jobs were created in Maryland during the first six months of 2008.

2008 year-to-date 2,312 existing homes have been sold. That's down from 3,409 the previous year. The average home price was $405,790, down less than 1%.

BWI had a 2.7% increase in passengers 2008 year-to-date and the gross receipts for A.A. Co. hotel tax is basically unchanged at $7,295,758
