Find out about learning differences at free seminars

Homework help parentParents can find out more about dyslexia, early signs of learning differences and other topics related to learning difficulties during free educational seminars provided by The Summit School. Five different seminars are planned for locations around Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties during October and November.

The Summit School in Edgewater provides education for students with dyslexia and other learning differences from age 6 to eighth grade.

Seminar topics, times and locations include:

Oct. 1 – Dyslexia Myths & Truths
4-5:30 p.m. at Thrive Gymnastics in Annapolis
Children may attend an open gym session while parents learn the facts about dyslexia.

Oct. 4 – Recognizing the At-Risk Learner
6:30-7:30 p.m. at Edgewater Library
Learn about early communication and behavioral and social indicators that may predict later learning difficulties.

Oct. 25 – Early Signs of Learning Differences
6:30-7:30 p.m. at Chesapeake Family offices in Annapolis and streaming on Facebook Live
Learn indicators of possible learning differences that can surface at a young age.

November seminars will cover Three D’s: Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia at Severna Park Community Center Nov. 3 and Executive Function and School Achievement at the South Bowie Branch Library on Nov 1.
