Elephants smashing pumpkins and more fun at ZooBOOO!

Celebrate Halloween festivities at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore with safe trick-or-treating, games, animals and more at ZooBOOO! Oct. 23-25.

The weekend fun will kick-off with the Annual Pumpkin Smash with the elephants on Friday, Oct. 23 at 11:30 a.m. Pumpkins are a special treat for the elephants, and they only get them this time of year. Visitors can watch them experience the fun of opening their own pumpkins at the elephant exhibit.

Zoo Elephant PumpkinsWZooBOOO! will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the zoo in the Waterfowl Lake Pavilion area. This year includes includes Halloween trick-or-treating, visits from our Animal Ambassadors, two costume contests each day, carnival games, crafts, a hay maze, silly and magical entertainment and more.

Entertainment Stage Schedule

10:30 a.m. each day — Silly Goose & Val’s Musical Zoo
1:30 p.m. each day — The Bert the Nerd Thrill Show

ZooBOOO! Costume Contests

Held 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. daily. Registration for the first contest closes 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. for the second contest.

Daily on the zoo grounds, there will be keeper chats and special animal enrichment activities. Zoo guests can watch as many animals receive their own fall treats at different times during the weekend. Enrichment activities are designed to add variety and stimulation to the daily routines of animals at the Zoo. They also showcase the keepers care and knowledge of the animals, as the treats are specially created for each species.

The event is free with paid zoo admission of $13-$18, although some activities require an additional fee. For details visit the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore website.
