Is your dog ready to take the plunge for a good cause?
On Sunday, Aug. 24, the SPCA of Anne Arundel County will hold its Third Annual Puppy Plunge at Camp Letts in Edgewater.
Dogs will gather on the beach and run full speed ahead into the Rhode River to demonstrate their owners’ commitment to helping animals at the SPCA. Bigger dogs will plunge into Muscle Beach and smaller dogs into Petite Beach.
There will also be a Dog Bikini Contest and a Puppy Pie Eating Contest for big and small dogs. Other entertainment will include live music by the Oyster Boys, demonstrations, a children’s activity area, dunk tank, raffle and “Go Home Clean” dog wash.
Events run from noon-4 p.m. Admission is $8; children under 10 and dogs are free. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate. Visit spcapuppyplunge.kintera.org and create your dog’s very own fundraising page. Any donation of $40 or more will receive a SPCA Puppy Plunge T-shirt (while supplies last).
All funds raised for this event benefit the animals in the care of the SPCA of Anne Arundel County. For details, visit the Puppy Plunge website.
