Take the family to the FlowerMart this weekend in Baltimore’s Mt. Vernon Park where there will be children’s activities, tons of flowers, food and the traditional lemon sticks.
The event, usually held in the spring, was rescheduled for Sept. 11-12 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The renovated Washington Monument will be open with free admission throughout the event. Families can view the new touchscreen exhibits and climb to the top.
Fridays entertainment will include the Grand Hat Contest, several different dance groups, musical entertainment and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Community Sing.
Saturday will open with a Pet Parade. A Children’s Camp will be held at West Park from noon to 5 p.m. and will feature Urban Pirates Story Time, a puppet performance, balloon artist, arts and crafts, games and a stilt walker. Two separate stages will have various performers from Irish dance to local bands.
The event is free. For a full schedule of events visit the FlowerMart website.
