Parents and educators should plan on attending a Family Involvement Conference at Old Mill High School, Saturday, March 8.
The conference, titled “Passport to Success,” will provide information and resources to support student readiness and enhance student achievement and will run 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It is sponsored by Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ Office of School and Family Partnerships, in collaboration with the Early Childhood Coalition of Anne Arundel County and the Military Family School Support Initiative.
Interim Superintendent Mamie J. Perkins will join participants for breakfast, and Shauna King will deliver the keynote address titled “Jack’s Brain, Jill’s Brain.”
Participants will be able to choose two one-hour workshops from a list of 12. Sample topics include: “Finding the Magic in Behavior Management,” “College and Career Workshop,” “Read To Me, Tuck Me In,” “Time Management and Organization,” “Kids Serve, Too!” and “Resources for Families with Children with Special Needs.”
