Family Movie Review: Battle of the Year (PG-13)

BattleOfTheYear ChesapeakeFamilyMovieReviewKernel Rating (out of 5): half-popcorn-kernal

MPAA Rating: PG-13        Length: 109 minutes

Age Appropriate For: 13+. Some cursing and sexually themed jokes; an alcoholic character who never really quits drinking but is supposed to be a serious mentor; young men fighting over a woman; a character who is homophobic; and an impressive amount of over-the-top patriotism that is fairly disrespectful to other cultures.

A terrible hybrid of every sports movie cliché mixed with every dance movie cliché, ‘Battle of the Year’ is an exceptional waste of your time. Focus on the word ‘waste’ rather than ‘exceptional,’ please.
